Heart of Minnesota Animal Center – Mr Bojangles
As lovable as a Nitty Gritty Dirt Band song, Mr. Bojangles is approximately 1 year old and 56 lbs who came to us as a stray. He appears to be a pit mix and is sweet as they come. Mr. Bojangles has a wonderful, friendly disposition. He loves to get attention from anyone and loves to play fetch. He thinks he is a lap dog and loves to get kisses. If you have a place for him to run and time to give this energetic pup, then he is for you. For more information, or to meet Mr. Bojangles and all of his friends at the shelter, click here.
Ruff Start Dog & Cat Rescue – Evie
Hello, I’m Evie! I might look like a stealthy black panther, but I’m really just a sweetheart looking for love and snuggles. Though I’ve still got some growing up to do, I am very affectionate and have decided that getting pets is, paws down, the best thing ever. I will even give you purrs and kneads in return! I still have to figure out what the deal is with dogs and other cats, but my foster family says I’ll likely make a great fur-sibling once I learn more about them. I’m looking for a home that will embrace my loving nature and want to shower me with attention. Is it you?
Midwest Animal Rescue & Services – Marlene
I am a distinguished older girl who would prefer a quiet home who loves to go for long walks. I would do best in a home with another male companion my size or bigger or a home with no other dogs. Because I’m a distinguished gal, I know how to…hold it…until it’s outdoor time, if you know what I mean. I think of my crate as a safe space and don’t mind spending time in it. And of course, with poise comes basic manners every lady with class obtains at an early age. Little humans, they move alot for this dame.
I’m in my retirement life phase and enjoy quietly sunbathing in the living room or taking a leisruely walk instead of playing with little humans; I’ll leave that to the youngsters doggos. Ending the day curled up on the couch, snuggling with my person on long cold nights and watching movies? That’s perfection.
So what do you say – are you ready for this poised, respectful, classic lady to join your home? Apply here: Marlene’s Web Page (midwestanimalrescue.org)
Heartland Animal Rescue Team (HART) Rescue – Maple
Maple is a 3 year old spayed DSH, she is a beautiful big girl who loves any human interaction she can get. She is known for acting out when other cats are around, but she has been tolerating the cats that she lives with on the adoption floor here at the shelter. Maple would appreciate being the only cat in the household, so she doesn’t have to share any attention with anyone else. You can view her adoption profile online at hartpets.org, call the shelter for more information at (218) 829-4141, or visit her in person at 15494 Dellwood Drive, Brainerd MN 56401.
Underdog Pet Rescue of Minnesota – Verone
Verone is almost 2 years old and thought to be a shepherd x something small and short as she weighs 35 pounds! She loves squeaky toys and playing and all things FUN! She is potty, crate, and leash trained.
Verone prefers to be your center of attention and asks to be the only dog in her forever home. Sharing just isn’t her thing, but she promises so shower her humans in cuddles and kisses.

Pet Haven of Minnesota – George
To all the experienced Saint Bernard and big dog lovers, do we have a dog for you! Meet George, a 130-pound, sweet, goofy boy is just a little over a year old and is looking for his forever home. He loves to play with toys, being pet, and running around in the backyard. Some of his favorite toys are his ball and his stuffed Koala. George is treat-motivated and if he hears “biscuit” called, he will come running! He has a big personality to go with his big size and will keep you laughing with the hundreds of facial expressions he does.
George requires someone who will provide him with slow introductions as strangers do make him nervous. Also, someone who will continue training with him focusing on manners. George is also muzzle trained. George must go to a single-family home with a fenced-in backyard. He is more of a few blocks walk type of guy versus longer strolls. Because of his size and the fact that sometimes he does not like to share his toys, George cannot live with small children. He does do well with other dogs.
If you love big, slobbery, and sweet pups that would love nothing more than to cuddle, then this boy is for you! To meet him, or his many furry friends, click here.
