The programming of the Country of Art and History of the Bastides du Rouergue continues with a conference by Jean-Louis Cance “Observe and protect the birds in the garden” offered in the Center for the Interpretation of Architecture and Heritage (Maison du Gouverneur in Najac) today, Friday June 4 from 6.30 pm This conference will mark the start of the Rendez-vous aux jardins 2021.
Appointment is also given tomorrow, Saturday June 5, for an exploratory visit of the Bois du Bruel led by Marie-Dominique Albinet (environmentalist, CAUE 12) and Christian Sépulcre (carpenter). This 16-hectare wood, backed by the ridge line that separates the steep-sided schist valley of Jaoul, dominates the hilly landscapes of the granite basin of the Serènes. This exploratory visit will allow you to discover the landscape context, the environment and the species that constitute this forest, to understand what its evolution could have been, to spot plants and perhaps traces of animals, to wonder about the uses that could have taken place in the past and on the future management of this natural and heritage site. This exploratory visit is offered in connection with the exhibition “Half-timbered houses, an art of building” which will be presented at the Governor’s House, Center for the Interpretation of Architecture and Heritage of the Country of Art and history of the Bastides du Rouergue, lasting from June to October 31.
